Hyperhidrosis: sweat in armpits

Hyperhidrosis is a pathology in which there is an excess of sweating.

There are several types of hyperhidrosis depending on the affected area. Although, there are two that creates more discomfort among people to be appreciated at first sight. These two are the following:

  • Axillary hyperhidrosis: As its name indicates, it is the excess sweating in the armpits. It is one of the most common and annoying problem for people who suffer from it.   • Palmar hyperhidrosis: It is an excessive sweating on the hands. And it is the world most common type of hyperhidrosis in population. It is estimated that more than 3% of the population suffers from it.

Hyperhidrosis affects men and women equally. For people who suffer from it, it can be aggravated considerably in situations of nerves, anxiety or stress.

Is there a solution for pathology?

Like most of the pathologies that exists today, there is a solution to eradicate it, but it lasts a certain time. It is not a definitive solution. Although it is true that this solution can last between 12 to 16 months. It is a treatment that is not painful, and its results are quite immediate -between 1 to 3 days- to solve it, we use botulinum toxin.
